Dodge Fuel Filter

The fuel filter can be found in most internal combustion
engines and does the job of screening out the dirt and the rust
particles which are present in the fuel. This part is an ordinary
fixture in most vehicles of today because what it does is helpful for
the vehicle. Its simple yet important job is to remove any impurities
from the fuel before the fuel ever reaches the carburetor or the fuel
injector.
This is a vital function in today’s
modern, tight tolerance engine fuel systems. Unfiltered fuel may
contain several kinds of contamination like paint chips and dirt that
have been knocked into the tank while filling. If these substances are
not removed when the fuel enters the system, these will cause rapid
wear and failure of the fuel pump and the injectors due to their
abrasive actions. Besides, there will be an improved engine performance
if there are less contaminants floating in the fuel, since the fuel
will be efficiently burned.
As soon as you notice that there is
something wrong with your Dodge filter, when they get clogged with
impurities for instance, have the part inspected so that it can be
cleaned or replaced. The Dodge fuel filter needs to be maintained at
regular service intervals. If the filter is not replaced regularly, it
may become clogged with contaminants and can cause restriction in fuel
flow, causing a big performance drop for your Dodge.
Some of these filters are especially found on diesel engines and
consist of a bowl-like design that collects the water at the bottom.
The water can then be drained off by opening a valve in the bottom of
the bowl and letting the water out until the bowl contains only the
diesel.
