Dodge Spark Plug Wires

Spark the optimum performance of your Dodge with the right
spark plug wires out in the market today. The spark plug wires, or
ignition or connector wires for that matter, together with the spark
plugs, are the critical last pieces in the ignition system that every
gasoline engine needs to operate. In maintaining these parts, you do
not have to have advance knowledge and tools required in the field;
usually, you just need a few hand tools which are found in most tool
boxes.
The Dodge spark plug wires connect the
spark plugs to the distributor or ignition coils. Compared to other
wires, the spark plug wires are designed to have a lot of resistance.
This resistance helps reduce the radio static that the ignition system
generates. It is advisable not to replace the resistant wires with non
resistant wires unless the ignition system is designed for it. When you
use non resistant wires, these may damage the modern ignition system
that is designed with the resistance as part of the circuit. The spark
plug wires have a high voltage insulation that is capable of carrying
30,000 volts or a much higher voltage to the spark plugs.
The EMI or electromagnetic interference
that comes from the spark plug wires must also be suppressed, since it
can send erroneous signals to the engine management system and other on
board electronic devices. For perfectly working spark plug wires,
always check the part and keep them clean. A simple film of dirt that
forms on the side of the wires can create a conductive path for the
high voltage when exposed to moisture, thus the importance of proper
care.
If the spark plug wires in your auto need replacements, you have to
find the Dodge spark plug wires which are capable of performing the
tough task designed for them to perform. Just make sure that the
product that you get conforms to the specification for your vehicle.
